A hand-crank gramophone in a square wooden case; a folding crank sits on the side, with the platter, a metal tonearm and a round soundbox on top. The large horn attached to the body has a flower-like segmented form, its outer surface painted in graduated red to orange tones. There is paint loss, dark staining and small dents along the mouth of the horn, and the coloured decorative label on the front panel is faded and partly rubbed away. The wooden base shows scratches and worn lacquer.
